The visa itself for Bhutan costs once US $ 40, regardless of the duration of the trip. The visa should not be confused with the sustainable development fee (SDF), which is much more expensive. All our trips include SDF.
The Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is a mandatory fee charged by all foreign tourists in Bhutan. This fee is used to finance the development of tourism in Bhutan and to ensure that tourism is sustainable and makes a positive contribution to the social, economic and ecological development of the country.
Please note that when traveling to Bhutan, in addition to the cost of the package tour and visa, there is a Sustainable Development Fee.
The costs of the Sustainable Development Fee are included US $ 100 per person and every night in Bhutan. This amount, which must be taken over by the traveler to Bhutan, is not available to the local travel agency in Bhutan and must be given directly to the government. This government fee is used by most travel providers in the Itinerary costs integrated.
